Peter Hudson Bredenberg was born yesterday, April 12, at 9:45 a.m.!
Weighing in at 6 lbs 5.7 oz, and measuring 20.5 inches long, he is doing wonderfully and is a delight to all of us already. Amy is doing very well, recovering nicely from the process and hoping to come home tomorrow from the hospital. She did an amazing job under very different circumstances than we had imagined, and I couldn't be prouder of her.
I am floored at God's mercy and blessing, and in awe of the little tiny baby he has knit together and brought into this world! We are both so thankful for the many people praying for Peter's well-being and Amy's health and safety through the whole pregnancy and delivery. Both of our children are such clear testaments to God's amazing providence and blessing, and we just want everyone to join us in shouting from the hills that we serve a mighty and loving God!

Here is a close-up picture I took of Peter this morning. As you can tell, he is a beautiful little baby boy!
Here are another handful of the photos we took. I also uploaded these and a few more to our Shutterfly collection, in case you have difficulty viewing them here.
Here is Sydney viewing her Baby Brother at long last, even though it is through the glass of the nursery as he is bathed and checked out.
Here are Amy and Sydney in the room after the delivery, awaiting the arrival of Peter following his bath and examination in the nursery.
Here is the proud Papa holding Peter and admiring the wonder of God's creation and design.
Here are Amy and little Peter not long after the delivery. I think she looks awesome given the long ordeal of the delivery, don't you?
Here is Sydney gently greeting Peter with a soft kiss on his soft head. She's going to make a great big sister!
Unfortunately, that's all for now. I'm much more tired than I thought, as evidenced by the fact that when I started singing "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" to Sydney at bedtime (she loves it!) I got to the end of the first line and could not for the life of me recall what came next. I had to skip to the second verse to get back to familiar ground, despite singing that dozens, if not hundreds of times in the last year! All that to say, it has been a long couple of days, and I need a good night's sleep so I can have some Daddy-daughter time with Sydney in the morning and then go get Amy and Peter and get them home!
I'll post more soon, and I may even twist Amy's arm into posting about how Peter found himself in my arms every minute he was not either nursing or being actively pursued by another family member. That's exaggeration, but you could say I'm fond of the little guy!
